Two Developers Hope to Buy Carroll Creek Land
Frederick, MD (FREDERICKNEWSPOST.COM) – Two companies want a hand in developing a piece of land the city says is crucial in its long-term vision for Carroll Creek Linear Park and east Frederick.
Hogan Cos. and Matan Acquisitions Inc., part of the Matan Cos., both submitted proposals to the city of Frederick showing their interest in buying and developing a 6-acre vacant lot the city owns on the east side of Carroll Creek, between East Patrick and Highland streets. The city calls the site the “J&K Property.”
The city is delighted to see that the market is such that two companies are interested, said Richard Griffin, the city’s director of economic development.
“It’s an important piece of property, connecting the more urban section of downtown to the more pastoral section east of downtown,” Griffin said. “Getting that connection made and additional development has been a priority of the city and of this administration.”
